You may be experiencing disordered eating or body image issues. You might feel that thoughts of food and certain food-related behaviours are making you crazy, swallowing up way too much of your time and your self-esteem and messing everything up. You might feel you’re way too out of control to be helped. You’re not.
Maybe you find yourself feeling the need to exercise more and more and are constantly adding hours, laps or reps to your workout. You could be continually looking for ways to remain active because you’re afraid to stop. Even for a moment. You only feel safe and in control knowing that whatever happens, you can put on your trainers and hit the gym or the road or whatever else is your go-to. You’re not alone.
It might be that you yo-yo from one diet to the next and don’t trust yourself to eat without someone telling you how, what and when. Perhaps you feel deep discomfort with your body, and that your whole life revolves around reading labels, measuring food portions and your waistline and weighing yourself multiple times a day. You and your body are not ‘messed up’ or ‘failing’.
